The Daily Grace - Keep Calm, He is in Control

“Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!” (Psalm 46:10). What does it really mean to be still?  It means to keep calm. Now, we ask ourselves, how can God answer our prayers if we just still or calm?

By this, our faith and trust in the Lord will grow if we just let Him take control. If He says, “do nothing”, do nothing. Your nothing gives Him room to do something about it. He is King and He is in control.

Keep calm and know that He is God. He is always at work in our lives. He may seem silent but He's working on the backstage of our life play. While being still, take a long,
loving look at \your High God, above politics, above everything. He is a Sovereign God and know His power in quietness and trust.

Today We Pray

Dear Lord, I pray that this day You will incline my heart to keep your commandments, driving temptation from my mind. Guide my feet into the way of peace that having done Your will with cheerfulness. When the night comes, I will rejoice in giving You thanks for a day lived in Your presence; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Teach me, O Lord, to act so that all my deeds will glorify Your holy name and Your wonderful creation. Take pity, O Lord, on all the people in this earth. Hear the desires of all who cry out to You, and deliver them from evil.

O Lord God, forgive us our sins and offenses and insults against each other. Dispel from our hearts all indignation, suspicion, anger, remembrance of evil, quarrels, and all that might hinder and lessen brotherly love. Replace resentment with forgiveness, I pray, in the name of Christ.

Amen

Today's Godly Reminder - Psalm 46:10

What does it mean to be still? It means to calm down. It also means "hands off", because God is in control. It is entrusting everything to His Name and letting Him take over. Cease striving.

In being still, we can recognize and understand that He is God. His sovereignty will be shown if we just let Him handle everything. That's what God wants, to exalt and honor Him in His ways. So, step out of the traffic of life! Take a long, loving look your High God, above politics, above everything.

The Daily Grace - God is a Helping King

When you need help, who are the people who often help you? And, if someone needs a help, are you quickly responding to their call? We have an offer of help that is even more astounding. The Creator-God of the universe descends into our world, sees our trouble, and offers to marshal His resources to help us.

God is a very present help in trouble (Ps. 46:1). Our Savior helps by giving grace to endure. His Word, which is the Bible, also sustains us. We also have friends to encourage and pray for us. And, He's giving us the confidence that He will ultimately work it all together for our spiritual good.

Next time you feel along stranded along life's road, look for Your Helper, which is Jesus Christ. Our God is a helping King. Rejoice, because the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords has an open wide arms to help you always. When you're in trouble, God is only one call away and always ready to help you.

Today We Pray

Dear Lord, You are the only God in Heaven above or the earth below. I walk before You with all my heart. I bless Your name in the morning when I rise and in the evening when I sleep, and all the day when Your creation fills my eye.

I am thankful that when I experience trouble, You are waiting and wanting to help. Teach me to look to You and to rest in Your kind and loving care until You deliver me safely home. When I see and hear the thousand miracles of Your creation, let me see them anew, recalling that You have made them, and no other.

Help me to be at peace, with God and with his other children. And, may we love one another as Christ taught us. May I follow the example of good men of old, and may God comfort and help me and all who believe in Him, both in this world and in the world which is to come.

Amen

Today's Godly Reminder - Psalm 46:1

God will always be our refuge in times of need. He will be our strength when we need it. He is the mighty and impenetrable. He is a very present and well-proved help in trouble.

When we need help, He is just one call away. His line is always open. Don't hesitate to ask for His help. His arms are wide open to accept you.

The Daily Grace - Wisdom from Above

How to have that wisdom from above? And, what is that wisdom from above that they are talking about? Wisdom from above has its origins with God, not man. Its character is heavenly and not earthly. It is God's gift and must be received from Him. There is no real surprise that true Christians seek their wisdom from above and not from man.

People in our lives may sometimes suggest we do what seems most gratifying or practical in the moment. But, there is a difference between worldly and spiritual wisdom (1 Cor. 2:6-7). Wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy (James 3:17). When others are urging us to take a certain course of action, we can invite God to influence our response. One is truly wise who gains his wisdom from above.

Jesus Christ is our wisdom. The Word of God is our wisdom. It is only from the scriptures that we can become wise unto salvation. This wisdom can be accentuated through believing prayer. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him (James 1:5)
