Today's Godly Reminder - Proverbs 19:11

Smart people know how to hold their tongue, their grandeur is to forgive and forget. We should apply this verse in our everyday lives. We must learn how to forgive, just like He forgave us. Do not hold grudges. Even though how hard or how big the impact that someone had done to you, learn to forgive. We are imperfect people. Learn to forgive without seeking revenge and harboring resentment.

The Daily Grace - His Name is Powerful

God has a lot of names that describes His magnificent characteristics. God is so wonderfully multifaceted that He has many names that communicate His capabilities and character. His Name is indeed all-powerful. It portrays a lot of words that declares His wonders and goodness.

It's no wonder the writer of Proverbs encourages us to remember that "the name of the Lord is a strong tower", that in times of need God-fearing people run to it and "are safe" (Prov. 18:10). God's names, which describe His character, can bring comfort when we need it most. To name just a few, He is: Elohim (the God above all gods), Jehovah Jireh (the God who provides), El-Shaddai (the almighty God), Jehovah Rapha (our healer God), Jehovah Shalom (the God of peace), Jehovah Shamma (our God who is present) and Jehovah Yahweh (our loving, covenant-keeping God).

When unwelcome circumstances threaten you and you feel vulnerable, reflect on one of God's names. Be assured - He will be faithful to His Name. Declare His Name in your prayers. It is an all-powerful, mighty one, that can move mountains.

Today We Pray

Dear Lord, thank You for filling me with the joy of your grace and salvation. Assist me this day that I may do all things I am called to do without grumbling or disputing. I call on Your Spirit to assist me, that I may be blameless and innocent, a child of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation.

Remind us that Your names reveal Your character. Help us to remember them in our times of need and distress. Thank You for the assurance that You are faithful to Your Name.

O Jesus, strengthen my soul, You who are good above all good. And since You have inclined my soul in this way, show me how I may act for You, whatever it may cost, O Lord. Here is my life, my honor and my will, I have given them all to You and they are Yours, use me to do whatever You want.

Today's Godly Reminder - Proverbs 18:10

His Name is powerful. It is like a very strong tower that cannot be shaken and moved easily. His Name is mighty. There is nothing that God cannot do.

If we run in His arms, we will be safe. If we will just be upright and in right standing with God, we will be safe. We will be set on high, far above evil. Run to the Lord consistently and be protected.

The Daily Grace - Have Faith; Do Not Fear

Faith is like a paranoia in reverse. A truly paranoid person organizes his or her life around a common perspective of fear. Anything that happens feeds that fear. But, feeding your faith helps starve your fears. 

Faith works in reverse. A faithful person organizes his or her life around a common perspective of trust, not fear. Despite the apparent chaos of the present moment, God does reign. Regardless of how I may feel, I truly matter to a God of love.

What could happen if we in God's kingdom truly acted as if the words of the apostle John were literally true: "He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world" (1 John 4:4). What if we really started living as if the most-repeated prayer in Christendom has actually been answered - that God's will be done on earth as it is in heaven? My friends, have faith and do not fear. God is greater than anything in this world. We have Him on our side, always!

Today We Pray

Dear Lord, teach me to number my days aright, that I may gain wisdom of heart. Help me do today the things that matter, not to waste the time I have. Fill me this day with your kindness, that I may be glad and rejoice all the days of my life.

The moments I have are precious, Lord, see that I count them dear. I will put all my fears and failures in Your hands, my worries that consume me, my pain that destroys me. Because of all You are, my life, oh God, is yours.

Be now and evermore my defense. And, make me know and feel, that there is no other Name under heaven given to man. Let me receive health and salvation, but only the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Today's Godly Reminder - 1 John 4:4

We are greater than anything in this world. It is because we belong to God, the Creator of the Universe. We, believers, are of God and we belong to Him. We have already overcome the agents of the anti-christ!

Rise up O men of God! Because He who is in you is greater than Satan who is in the world. Satan is a person of sinful mankind. Defeat the enemy. Overcome the world. Fight the good fight of faith.
