Love never fades nor ends. Love never dies. Inspired speech will be over some day; praying in tongues will end; understanding will reach its limit. We know only a portion of the truth, and what we say about God is always incomplete. But when the Complete arrives, our incompletes will be canceled.
All the special gifts and powers from God will someday come to an end, but love goes on forever. Someday prophesy and speaking in unknown languages and special knowledge—these gifts will disappear. Everyone who prophesies will stop, and unknown languages will no longer be spoken. All that we know will be forgotten. Prophecy and speaking in unknown languages and special knowledge will become useless. But love will last forever!
