The Messiah has made things up between us so that we’re now together on this, both non-Jewish outsiders and Jewish insiders. He tore down the wall we used to keep each other at a distance. For Christ himself is our way of peace. He has made peace between us Jews and you Gentiles by making us all one family. He broke down the wall of contempt that used to separate us.
Christ has united us by breaking down the wall of hatred that separated us. Christ gave his own body. This Christmas, let us remember the reason for this season. God gave the Prince of Peace, which is Jesus Christ, for He himself has brought peace to us. He united Jews and Gentiles into one people when, in his own body on the cross, he broke down the wall of hostility that separated us.
