This is Paul's words of praise to God because of His unmerited favor and blessing in His life. Without God, He would not become what He is after His conversion. Paul sees God’s grace in his past, and in his future. The grace of God and the wisdom of God allowed him to commit the sins he did because it would make him a more useful minister of the gospel. His grace toward him was not found to be for fruitless and without effect.
This is amazing grace. Even though we are sinful, He will pour out favors and blessings in our lives if we will do everything for His glory. Do not let His grace go to waste. When we feel strong in times of weakness, it is not us, but it is God who is working in us. He made us what we are, and His wonderful kindness wasn’t wasted. Whatever we are now, it is all because God poured out his special favor on us.
