If, when we were at our worst, we were put on friendly terms with God by the sacrificial death of his Son. Now that we’re at our best, just think of how our lives will expand and deepen by means of his resurrection life. And since, when we were His enemies, we were brought back to God by the death of His Son. What blessings He must have for us now that we are His friends and He is living within us!
Even when we were God’s enemies, He made peace with us, because His Son died for us. Yet something even greater than friendship is ours. Now that we are at peace with God, we will be saved by His Son’s life. For since our friendship with God was restored by the death of His Son while we were still His enemies, we will certainly be saved through the life of His Son.
