The Lord does not delay, as though He were unable to act. God isn’t late with his promise as some measure lateness. He is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness. But, He is extraordinarily patient toward you. He is not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance. He is restraining himself on account of you, holding back the End because he doesn’t want anyone lost. He’s giving everyone space and time to change.
The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent. In fact, God is patient, because he wants everyone to turn from sin and no one to be lost.
